What do you do?

Leather, good leather, will grow to match its use over time. With proper care, your leather good can last much more than your lifetime.

Patina is the natural aging process of leather. As it is used, leather absorbs the oils around it causing it to darken over time. In addition to this natural process, oiling your leather goods once or twice a year with mink, neatsfoot or another leather conditioner will keep the leather supple and drastically prolong the leather’s lifetime. Dryness is the enemy of leather - use it and condition it once or twice a year and it will be with you for a long time to come.

It is important to note that each hide is unique to the animal. Some pieces will have scars, brands or other marks that the animal gained during life. With age these marks will continue to add character to the piece.
